Dirty Work from Steely Dan

It's not often that a band comes to town that you haven't really listened to in earnest since 1980. But such was the case when US act Steely Dan hit Adelaide last Tuesday evening - September 11 to be exact - to perform with their 10-piece band. Were they as cold and calculating as their cold and rather calculated albums?

Grote St Precinct AGM, Promethean and Los Tonos

I had the good fortune to be invited, along with a good number of other guests, to the annual general meeting of the Grote St Precinct. Rather than being one of those annual general meeting at which minutes are kept and hour are lost, this AGM was one with a difference.

Theatre, as per usual, is alive and well in A-Town.

State Theatre Company Of South Australia are currently presenting the world premiere of acclaimed Sydney playwright Marty Denniss’ Lion Pig Lion under the direction of Micheal Hill who worked on Denniss’ The Duck Shooter on the combined Brink Productions and State Theatre premiere.
