On the last day of spring I was feeding my ducks and listening to ABC Classic FM’s Classic 100 countdown of the best music of the 20th century. It is the sort of event that has music lovers in raptures and the station was receiving tributes, including a lot of tearful ones, on the theme of what music means to people, and how they listened.
