Gemtree Sustainable Cellar Door will be hosting Byron Bay songstress Miss Renee Simone as part of their Sea & Vines event in June. Simone, who appeared at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe, has an illustrious list of fans, including Xavier Rudd, Bernard Fanning and Angus Stone, who has described her voice as “tiramisu topped with smooth chocolate sauce”. Her debut album ROAR was released late last year and according to the singer was partly inspired by Gemtree’s Uncut Shiraz. “I wrote ROAR over a fair few bottles of Uncut,” she says. “I’m an avid red wine lover and Gemtree Uncut Shiraz is my all-time favourite wine. I have recently developed an allergy to a lot of red wines and Uncut has stood the test with its clean untoxic wine making process.” Simone will be performing two intimate sessions at Gemtree Winery in McLaren Flat on Sunday June 8. Patrons can treat themselves to a glass of Uncut Shiraz, a Gemtree tasting plate and the smooth sounds of Miss Renee Simone for $50 a head. More information through Gemtree Wines and tickets on sale now through Sea & Vines.
