Like Cures Like
Aug 2 - Sep 27
Samstag Museum of Art is proud to direct timely and important attention to an influential South Australian artist at a pivotal moment in her career. Centred on new work, like cures like draws together the enduring concerns evident in Haselton’s oeuvre — revealing an artist who inspirationally illuminates the liveliness and communicative power of inanimate objects, and the invisible forces that bind and repel the world around us.
Alongside like cures like, Samstag presents Closer, an exhibition by the late Sandra Elms that underscores the transportive possibilities of the photograph. In the first major gallery presentation of Elm’s work, Closer presents meditation on the passage of time and the pleasure found in careful observation.
