Boss is back in black

Black is back for Hugo Boss, as classic black and white will be a strong focus of the label’s summer women’s wear collection, which will be launched in Adelaide at the end of August.

The new season Boss Black women’s wear collection will be available from the Hugo Boss city store on Grenfell Street following an exclusive cocktail party to launch the range on Thursday, August 23.

While classic black and white lie at the core of the palette, the collection also includes injections of ivory, hibiscus sorbet, pops pink, truffle cream and sophisticated grey. Mix and match raspberry and tamarillo red in floaty dresses, blouses and cotton trousers in a nod to the colour-blocking trend.

Hugo Boss Managing Director, Matthew Keighran, said the premium fashion label was excited to be introducing the Boss Black women’s wear label into Adelaide.

“The collection is a high-impact fashion statement in modern style, featuring a rich array of elegant ‘modern classics’ in business, leisure and formalwear, which we think will be perfect for the Adelaide market.

“The focus of the collection is on evening and occasion wear, but with a relaxed attitude so women can mix the more sophisticated pieces with casual pieces for a laid-back look,” he said.

The collection lends itself to the femininity and purity of a 1950s silhouette with cotton stretch dresses showing a new fuller, flirty volume in a modern pop pink, a short jacket with three-quarter length sleeve, pleated skirt hemlines covering the knee and a beautiful graphic black and white tweed coat.

A huge trend for summer will be polka dots. Gorgeous slinky silk jerseys in classic black and white dot print are easy to wear and work beautifully with the tweed coats and cropped linen white jackets. A beautiful snake print is an inspiration for dresses, tops and skirts – and for shoes and envelope bags. Subtle gold detailing and hardware on bags and heels create a toned-down sense of luxury. A full range of accessories including pumps, two-tone sandals and hobo bags in buttery calfskin perfectly complements the collection.
