Adelaide Festival of Ideas announces 2018 program

Adelaide Festival of Ideas will return to the city this year with a massive lineup of 121 thinkers spread across 131 sessions in the West End from July 12-15.

“The 2018 Adelaide Festival of Ideas program epitomises the spirit of collaboration and partnership that is so great about South Australia,” said Adelaide Festival of Ideas founder and chairman Greg Mackie in a release. “I invite everyone who values the power of thinking alone together, to take a look and join in the conversation”.

The Festival this year poses the question, ‘Who’s at the wheel?,’ and has an accordingly large and diverse set of speakers from the worlds of science, art, literature and law to explore a wide array of topics.

This year’s thinkers include the likes of Kristin Alford, Robyn Archer, David Bevan, Jane Caro, Peter Drew, Tim Jarvis, Benjamin Law, Carmen Lawrence, Lindy Powell, Lisa Slade, Garry Stewart and Gillian Triggs.

“This is a unique opportunity to completely immerse yourself in a world of ideas, innovation and inspiration,” said the festival’s executive director Sandy Verschoor. “Plus for a more interactive experience there are six workshops, three exhibitions, two artist talks, two launches, two naps and one yoga session.”
