Studio Nine Architects to Merge with Abeo Design

Brought together by “mutual trust and respect” Studio Nine Architects and Abeo Design will merge in the new financial year.

From July of this year Studio Nine Architects and Abeo Design will be one under the Studio Nine banner. With each firm experiencing increasing demand for their award-winning work in recent years, it had come time to grow their teams. As the groups have worked together frequently in the past and share similar design philosophies, the merger comes as a natural move.

“We were looking to bolster our team with top-tier interior design experience and Abeo wanted to expand upon their architectural expertise,” said Studio Nine Senior Architect Tony Zappia in a press release. “There was already a natural synergy between the two companies and so a merger made a lot of sense.” It has been eight years since Abeo design was founded, and 18 since Studio Nine came onto the scene. Each group has made their mark on Adelaide’s design landscape, particularly in a series of innovative hospitality projects. Most recently the duo of design delivery had worked together on lauded hospitality projects including Gully Public House and Garden at Tea Tree Gully, The Moseley in Glenelg and the recently relaunched Holdfast Hotel.

“It’s been a true and honest collaboration since we first came together on our first project, The Moseley, and we believe the joining of two great design teams has huge potential,” said Abeo Design Director, Mandy Primett. “Abeo in Latin means change and it’s a quality we embrace. With this strategic merger we will now have even greater capacity to deliver dynamic and innovative projects, with results that surprise and exceed expectation.” As of July, the newly expanded Studio Nine Architects will continue with a workforce of more than 30 people in its Kent Town presmises. studionine.net.au abeodesign.com.au Read more: Studio Nine: Taking It To The Next Level
