Bastille Day at Adelaide Central Market

Bastille Day at Adelaide Central Market

Shoppers converged on the Adelaide Central Market for its Bastille Day celebrations last Friday and Saturday.

Highlights included cooking demonstrations, live music, free tastings, children’s activities, a champagne bar and a broadcast of the Tour de France.

New Market trader Les Deux Coqs has opened its doors just in time for Bastille Day and specialises in locally made French charcuterie.

Saturday saw an official opening by Dr Nick Begakis AO and Susan Crafter, the Honorary Consul of France in Adelaide. Attendees were invited to stay for a slice of Eiffel Tower cake for a gold-coin donation, with proceeds going to OzHarvest.
