Natural Dyes & Fabric Staining Workshop
Join artist Katie West for an introduction to making and working with natural dyes. The workshop will begin with a walk along the banks of Karrawirra Parri (Torrens River) to identify and source flora for dyeing.

Through the act of gathering materials for the dyes, we get to know each other, and the place where we are walking. Back at ACE Open, you will work with Katie to create your own unique dye and use this to stain and manipulate fabric to create your own individual textile piece.
Throughout the workshop Katie will also discuss ways of introducing processes centred around sustainability into your creative practice. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about working with natural materials from collection through to creation.
