Breaking The Waves

Lars von Trier’s 1996 film Breaking The Waves is reimagined as an opera by US composer Missy Mazzoli. Imported directly from its world premiere season in Edinburgh, Breaking The Waves features soprano Sydney Mancasola and Australian baritone Duncan Rock in complex and confronting story of a woman whose incapacitated husband asks that she seek out sex from other men, and tell him about it.
