Happy Motel’s Here’s To Now one-day celebration of music, wine, food and the new year will return to Coriole Vineyards on January 7 next year.
For the fourth year running, Here’s To Now will once more set Coriole’s gardens and cellar door ablaze with an impressive gastronomic and musical array.
This time around Here’s To Now’s line-up consists of a massive 14 acts. The impressive and eclectic mix is made up of stalwart local bands and DJs as well as niche groups from interstate, including hip hop collectives Koi Child and 30/70, the psychedelic live powerhouse NO ZU, rollicking jazz ensemble The Transatlantics, rising folk/blues star Timberwolf, and local electronic mainstay Oisima.
“Straight up, it’s an all day party!,” Happy Motel’s Jordan Jeavons tells The Adelaide Review, “We found that the crowd just wants to dance in the summer time so we’ve put together a roster of amazing, good feeling, big bands with a soul, hip hop and dance leaning. We only really book acts that we’ve loved seeing live recently.”
While the lineup has grown on 2016’s iteration, Jeavons says he is more focused on providing a high-quality experience for guests than growing the event into a larger festival.
“It’s not getting any bigger so now we just want to improve the experience for punters,” says Jeavons. “The event has slowly grown from a really special New Year’s Eve event with some friends to a serious production party with a word class roster of performers but it’s happened organically and over 4 years. Its always just been a good excuse for a beautiful summer garden party.”
And when it comes to food – always a highly anticipated part of a Happy Motel event – Jeavons says crowds should expect a “unique experience” and strong collaboration with the Coriole restaurant team including a ceviche bar, and converted barrel smoker.
“There will be lots of easy tasty options, certainly more than previous years, we’re working with the Coriole restaurant team to offer a unique food experience, using the Coriole food products, garden and of course plenty of charcoal, smoke, oysters and summery seafood and of course Coriole’s amazing wines, iced cold beers and a range of sunset cocktails,” he says.
Further announcements regarding Here’s To Now’s food and drink offering will come later in the year.
